Is Outsourcing and working with virtual assistants ethical?

This is a question that always seems to come up when I tell people that I teach entrepreneurs how to hire virtual assistants in the Philippines.

And to be honest, I'm not surprised. I had these same thoughts when I first heard about outsourcing and working with virtual assistants.

For me, two things came to mind.

1. Outsourcing kind of made me feel like I was exploiting people, especially since the cost to hire a virtual assistant is so low.
2. It felt unpatriotic to outsource work to a foreign country, especially after hearing so many news stories about large companies outsourcing jobs and laying off domestic employees.

BUT, I did some research, I talked to virtual assistants, I talked to people that had hired virtual assistants and I realized that those things just aren't true.

In fact, when you follow my approach to outsourcing, it turns out to be a win-win situation for everybody involved.
